Pastoral Plan Updates2025-02-11T13:04:46-05:00

Over two years ago, the Pastoral Plan committees began efforts to make SKS a stronger community of faith. Our areas of focus are broken into three committees: Liturgy Experience, Faith Sharing and Parishioner Engagement. The following are examples of how we have and continue to achieve progress in these areas of our parish community. Look for this logo around our parish to mark the other numerous areas of growth and achievement as a result of the Pastoral Plan!

Opening Mass for Catholic Schools Week January 28, 9:30AM

The opening of Catholic Schools Week featured a full church, full parish coffee and full hearts! The church hummed with energy from the many families and parishioners in attendance, including SKS school teachers (thank you Mr. Burman for singing!) and students in their school uniforms. The children’s choir, comprised of school and PREP kids, filled the sanctuary with joy.  Father Bill Gabriel, O.S.A, Head of Mission & Ministry at Malvern Prep, invited the children to the altar and delivered a homily with a message relevant to all. Mass was [...]

The three Pastoral Plan committees enter their second year with renewed commitment to make St. Katharine’s an even stronger community of faith. Parishioner Engagement and Faith Sharing

Advent by Candlelight, details below, is happening because the Faith Sharing committee conceived and planned the event while the Parishioner Engagement committee helped spread the word to the parish. Advent by Candlelight November 30, [...]

Parishioner Engagement:  Using Parish Coffees to Grow

Lately, the Parishioner Engagement committee has been eyeing coffees as a way to grow parish ministries. The committee has identified three components of a successful parish coffee: food and beverages, a committed ministry host and a service activity for the children. Each ministry receives a new tip sheet, created by the parishioner engagement team, on “How to Host a Successful Parish Coffee” with suggestions for soliciting food, finding volunteers, quick set-up, clean-up, etc. The sheet also emphasizes ways the ministry can use the coffee to promote itself, its mission, activities and [...]
